Research Questions

The main research questions to be addressed by the WGRS are:

1. How do different actors (from above and below) at different levels (local, national, regional, and international) define and/or perceive security in general and regional security in particular?
2. How does institutionalized civil society interact with formal regional institutions?
3. Whether and how do non-institutionalized movements and processes impact regional security?
4. How can alternative regional security processes, especially trans-border interactions impact on and/or improve the security of local communities?
