The first year of work is a mapping exercise of perspectives on regional security from above and below, including processes, movements, campaigns, advocacy activities, etc. that will be guided by a common template to be agreed upon by the four regional research teams. The data collection methods will include literature review and key informant interviews, as well as others, to map the perspectives and practices of regional security from above and below and how they address human security concerns of communities and peoples at the grassroots level.
Information and data collected will be systematized and a draft report of each region will be prepared. Whenever feasible, each team will exert every effort to validate their findings with relevant actors from above and below.
